Butterfly Meadow – Somewhere over the rainbow
SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW:
This picture is part of a theme called ”Somewhere over the rainbow”. The idea came to me when my daughter entered her teens and I started to think about where I was myself at her age. For me, those years were like living in a bubble, in my own world (hence the name of the theme). You go on an inner journey where you try to find yourself and what expressions you want to use for your personallity. In my case I explored my dreams through my creativity and was drawing a lot at the time. That is why I also chose a pencil technique for the pictures. When are you big enough to leave childhood behind? I believe in playfulness at any age 🙂
I have mixed pencil drawings with collages and a type of graphic rubbing technique. The final work results in a digital collage that is printed as a giclée* in limited edition of 75.
Each work is printed on high quality acid free fine art 310g paper called Canson Infinity-Edition Etching.
*Giclée fine art is a large format inkjet printing technique, including processes that use fade-resistant, pigment-based archival inks, and archival substrates. The technique uses an advanced colour system that increase the apparent resolution and color gamut and allows smoother gradient transitions. Colour pigment resistance well over 100 years.
